NAN reports that the petroleum marketers in Anambra, Ebonyi and Enugu states shut down operations over the leadership tussle in Enugu chapter of the association.
It was alleged that some members of the association in Enugu attempted to illegally sack the Nwankwo-led executive and take over.

Nwankwo said that the decision to re-open their outlets followed a directive from IPMAN national leadership, which authorised them to shutdown operation on Tuesday.

He said that the directive was contained in a circular issued by the national leadership after the intervention of Enugu state government.

“As a result of the intervention of Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, we directed all marketers to go back to their services in the best interest of our country,” he said.
Nwankwo described the strike as a union affair and dismissed the allegation that it was an attempt to disrupt the general elections in the area.

He thanked the members of the public for their understanding, promising that the associaiton would continue to work for the betterment of the nation’s economy.
NAN correspondent, who monitored the situation in Awka and its environs, reports that while some service stations had no products, others were seen dispensing to customers. (NAN)
