Ethiopia’s Geleta Ulfata Wins 2022 Lagos City Marathon

Ulfata Deresa of Ethiopia has emerged winner of the 2022 Lagos City Marathon sponsored by Access Bank on Saturday.

Deresa claimed the price of $30, 000 after running the 42 km race in 2 hours, 11 minutes and 54 seconds.

The first runner-up, David Barmasai, finished the 42Km race in two hours, 13 minutes and 33 seconds and received a cheque of $20,000.

The marathon started at the National Stadium in Surulere, and went all the way to the Eko Atlantic City along the Ahmadu Bello Way, Victoria Island.

For the 10 km runners, their race started from Lekki Phase I — up to the finishing point at Eko Atlantic City.
