Ernst & Young Nigeria (EY) has concluded arrangements to bring together banks’ audit committee members across board, as part of efforts to brainstorm on governance related issues, bringing into perspective the evolving demands of business, regulators and investors alike.

The forum, with the theme: ‘The future of Governance Digital, Technology and Innovation”, will hold on Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at the UBA House, 10th Floor, Marina, Lagos.

Speakers, who are mainly experts in financial sector, will be looking to unpack issues around the role and responsibilities of the Audit Committee members and how their roles have evolved in recent time.

Other areas of interest to be discussed will be the impact of digital technologies on internal audit, with specific focus on ways technological innovation is changing the internal audit function.

Speakers will also take a deep dive into IFRS 9 and other developments impacting financial instruments accounting, among others.

According to EY, the forum is specifically being organised to deliberate on the alignment of audit committee agenda with bank’s priority areas, present compliance matters as well as new reporting standards, among other pressing issues bordering on audit.

“In our journey to build a better working world, we are continually innovating to support Audit committee member to carry out their governance role to better meet the evolving demands of business, regulators and investors’, EY said in a statement.
