Ezekwesili Promises To Reduce Poverty

The Presidential candidate of the Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (APCN) and former minister of education, Dr Oby Ezekwesili has promised to implement a policy that will reduce the level of poverty and hardship in the country if elected.

Ezekwesili , a co-convenerĀ  of the famous Bring Back our Girls spoke in Abuja in a rally while addressing her supporters who thronged out to welcome her.

The presidential hopeful disclosed that she decided to embark on a campaign strategy that is different from the other major political parties to feel the pains of the less privileged and know how to address their problems when elected.

Ezekwesili, who lamented the high level of poverty in the country said she will also create job opportunities for theĀ  youth through its entrepreneurship and skill acquisition programmes which according to her was packaged to ameliorate the suffering of the people.

She noted thatĀ  entrepreneurship was key to theĀ  self-reliance and economic development of the country , explaining why she introduced it to the universityĀ  curriculum as a minister of education.

Ezekwesili, who also stated that her government willĀ  give the youths and womenĀ  opportunity to participate, said education will be given a boost adding that the country’s over dependence on oil as the main source of revenue was unhealthy.
