FG Suspends Execujet For Flying Naira Marley To Abuja

Federal Government has suspended ExecuJet services indefinitely as a result of giving false information.

The private jet operator is being sanctioned for flying singer, Naira Marley to Abuja for.a concert in breach of COVID-19 lockdown rules.

Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, said on Monday atbthe daily COVID-19 Task Force briefing that the flight which conveyed the controversial musician to Abuja for his concert was approved for the use of transporting a judge.

“It was supposed to take a judge, Hon Justice Adefope Okoji, to Abuja and back to Lagos”, he said adding that stricter conditions would be imposed for approval of private jet flights.

Pilots are to be sanctioned and operators are going to be heavily fined, the minister also said.

The company operates local and international charter services and is also Nigeria dealer for Honeywell Avionics.

FCT authorities had earlier sealed Jabi Lake mall where the concert was staged.
