In order to boost creativity and encourage young people to develop their talents, Superior Pharmaceuticals Limited, makers of Sumether-plus malaria drug, recently rewarded three young Nigerians with cash prizes as finalists in an anti-malaria theme song contest for the product.

Davon Praise from Abuja clinched the grand prize award of N350,000 while Obed Chima and Emmanuel Davidson emerged first runners-up and went home with consolation cash prizes.

While welcoming guests at Linton Host Hotel, Ajao Estate, Lagos, President and Chief Executive Officer of the company, Ike Okeke, said the theme song challenge was designed to engage young men and women in their health care and promote wellness and malaria awareness among Nigerians.

He added that they also designed the contest to encourage young citizens to be creative, develop themselves and their God-given talents.

Okeke said the company is committed to being an agent of change in the healthcare market, and described Superior Pharmaceuticals, as an indigenous company with the sole purpose of providing life-saving and affordable medications to the citizens.

Also, Okeke explained that the winners were picked through a tough, competitive and rigorous process.

He, however, urged the winners to stay focused, stay out of trouble and avoid Codeine, Tramadol and other drugs of abuse. Okeke also enjoined them to commit to developing themselves, saying it would ensure that men continue to celebrate them.

Also, Vice President of the company, Mrs. Ruth Harrison Shogbola, lauded the creativity of Nigerian youth, saying the quality of the entries made it difficult to quickly pick the finalists.
