The international tourism industry will meet in Madrid from 20th to 24th January 2016 at FITUR, the first major worldwide event for the industry, where destinations from the five continents (165 countries/regions), important business groups and start-ups, hotels and airlines, operators and distributors, opinion leaders and innovators create tourism.

FITUR, the leading event for the Ibero-American markets (Latin America, Spain & Portugal) and a benchmark worldwide, welcomed in 2015 more than 9,400 companies and 125,000 trade participants (5% more than in 2014). Media coverage was once again outstanding, with more than 7,400 official journalists and bloggers from 60 countries.

FITUR GAY LGBT is offering a business space for the gay sector, whose relevance as a segment and demand group for the worldwide tourism industry is gaining considerable momentum. In regard to Spain, this type of tourism, according to a report published in August by LGBT Capital, represents revenue of 6.1 billion in visits made by gays and lesbians. In this section, a particularly prominent role will be played by the lesbian segment, which will be reinforced thanks to the agreement with Ella Corporate.

FITUR SHOPPING is hosting, in its second edition, luxury brands, international companies, stores, shopping destinations, international touroperators, specialised travel agencies, etc. Together with the exhibiting area a B2B programme is organised. It guarantees the attendance of international travel participants, the representatives of main countries of interest in Shopping Tourism Industry: China, Russia, Brazil and South-East Asia.

FITUR HEALTH, an initiative which has emerged thanks to the participation of the Spaincares cluster to boost health tourism, a growing segment within the national tourism scene. To this end it has its own area to host the proposals of participating companies and a forum for analysis and debate, as well as a space for B2B meetings and appointments.
