According to the statement, the suspects were arrested in different locations in the Ilorin metropolis following intelligence reports gathered by the anti-graft agency.

It stated that the suspects were discovered to have used their phones and laptop computers to communicate with their victims, who were mostly foreigners, in order to defraud them of different sums of money.

The EFCC said investigations by its operatives revealed that the suspects benefited from various sums of foreign currencies deposited in their bank accounts by the victims.

Items recovered from the suspects, according to Uwujaren, include phones, cars and documents containing false information.

He added that the suspects would soon be charged. [PUNCH]
