FJP Kicks Over PMB’s Order Against Ballot Box Snatchers

The presidential candidate of the Freedom and Justice Party (FJP), Dr Onwubuya John Breakforth has said that the alleged ‘ruthless shot at sight order’ to the military by President Muhammad Buhari is an invitation to anarchy.

Dr Breakforth said this yesterday during a press conference on the state of the nation held in Abuja.

The Freedom and Justice Party presidential candidate appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to immediately rescind the order and apologise to Nigerians.

He said that there are laws for electoral offenders, adding that the law enforcement agencies have the right to arrest and prosecute any lawless citizen for prosecution.

He however, condemned the persistence accusations and counter accusations between the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), warning the two parties not to throw our country into war because of their political ambitions.

“We are also calling on the presidential candidates especially the two leading parties to shelve their sword and see the national unity, peaceful coexistence and interest of good people of Nigeria as a priority far above their personal ambitions to govern Nigeria.

“There must first be existence of a nation before democratic governance can thrive. No ambition of any candidate is worth the blood of any Nigerian,” he said.

Dr Breakforth further lauded the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for being credible and neutral and called on the general public to support INEC so that the electoral body can get the confidence to fulfill its job.
