I Focus On My Work, Not Stardom –Bolaji Ogunmola

Actress, Bolaji Ogunmola, is gradually making a name for herself in Nollywood. The alumna of the University of Ilorin who was a participant at the 2013 Next Movie Star, however, noted that she prefers to focus on her work instead of stardom.

In an interview with Sunday Scoop she said, “I think I am too focused on the work to be caught up in the euphoria of fame or stardom. I always fix my eyes on my goal.”

Recalling some of the sacrifices she has made for the growth of her career, she said, “Dedication to my craft and not getting enough sleep are the sacrifices I have made for the growth of my career.”

Asked some of the hard lessons she has learnt as an entertainer, the Royal Arts Academy-trained actress said, “It is easy to get distracted in this industry. However one of the lessons I have learnt is that the work is more important than every other thing.”

Ogunmola, who recently featured in the movie, Progressive Tailors Club, described it as a beautiful experience. She said, “Being part of the movie was such a beautiful experience. Everybody on that project understood the assignment. I believe the movie is a must watch for every Nigerian.”

Sparing some words of advice for up-and-coming actors, she said, “For individuals who desire to break into the industry, my advice would be, ‘Don’t be afraid, keep working hard. Everything will work out’.”
