The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Delta Sector Command has decorated 46 officers and men who were recently promoted to new ranks on Wednesday at the Command’s office in Asaba.
In his address, the State Sector Commander, Mr Ocheja Ameh, congratulated the newly-promoted officers and charged them to rededicate themselves to service.
He reminded them that promotion in service was additional responsibility and challenged them to justify their new ranks with greater commitment.
“Let me remind you all that your elevation is not about being the best or most intelligent among your colleagues.
“Rather, it is because this is the time that God has chosen for you to be elevated in your work.
“So also, this is a time for you to redouble your commitment to work because to whom much is given, much is expected,” Ameh said.
He used the event to advise those who had yet to be promoted to be patient and remain dedicated to their job.
“For those of you that are yet to be promoted, I want you to remain patient and focused on your job, because, surely, your time will come,” he said.
The 46 newly promoted officers include three senior management staff members who were promoted to the rank of Assistant Corps Commander (ACC).
Mr Stephen Enyogasi, Mrs Theresa Omongu and Mrs W. Agwu were elevated to ACC.
Mr Kenneth Ogbonna, the Public Relations Officer of the State Command was promoted to the rank of a Superintendent Route Commander (SRC).
In a goodwill message, the State Comptroller of the Nigeria Correctional Service, (NCS), Mr Friday Ovie, tasked the promoted officers to justify their promotion with renewed commitment.
“As I congratulate you all today on your deserved promotions, let me also remind you that promotion is additional responsibility.
“This is a new call to duty, a call to greater zeal to do more so as to justify your elevations to your new status,” Ovie said.
Responding on behalf of the newly-promoted officers ACC Enyogasi expressed appreciation to the FRSC for the promotions.
He assured the FRSC management that the newly-promoted officers and men would rededicate themselves to work.
“Promotion in is a great motivating factor in public service and I want to assure the FRSC that we will do more in our work,” Enyogasi said
