Gang Up Affected APC’s Chances In Keffi East – Adamus

The All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Assembly candidate in Nasarawa State for Keffi East constituency, Hon Yahaya Wada Adamus has decried the high level of gang up within his party, saying that it puts his chances and that of the party in the balance.

The result for Keffi East was declared inconclusive, with a rerun expected to take place in three polling units as rescheduled by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

LEADERSHIP learnt that all the major APC stakeholders in Adamus constituency voted against the former commissioner and mobilized their supporters to do same, a development that gave the Social Democratic Party (SDP) the edge over the ruling APC in the poll.

Our correspondent gathered that the travails of Hon. Adamus may not be unconnected with his refusal to support the candidature of Hon. Aliyu Wadada and chose to pitch his tent with Al-Makura’s preferred choice.

In addition, Adamus also worked for the emergence of Aliyu Tijjani as Senator, a development which was said to have angered the incumbent Senator who vowed to ensure that the commissioner fails in his election.

When contacted on the development, Hon. Adamus who expressed dismay said, “Sen. Adamu is our leader and he has promised to resolve the differences between me and Hon. Ali whom I defeated in the primaries.”

“He promised to call us in private, take us before the Emir of Keffi and call a public stakeholders meeting towards ensuring APC success, but as I speak to you nothing has been done. My prayer however remains that he becomes the president of the Senate given the benefit our state and the nation stand to gain.”
