GOC Commissions Key Intervention Projects In Enugu, Reassures Commitment To Troops’ Welfare


The General Officer Commanding ( GOC) 82 Division Nigerian Army (NA), Major General Taoreed Lagbaja, says welfare of troops is his topnotch priority as he commissioned numerous key intervention projects for the troops in Enugu.

Reaffirming his commitment during the commissioning ceremony of key intervention projects completed by the Division in Abakpa Cantonment Enugu on Tuesday. Gen Lagbaja stressed that the welfare of personnel remains the topmost priority of his administration.

Acting Deputy Director Army Public Relations 82 Division, Lieutenant Colonel Abubakar Abdullahi in a statement disclosed to Enugu Reporters, noted the projects to include the newly contructed Neuroscience and Wellness Centre, Specialist Outpatient Department/Urology Clinic and Nursing Station at 82 Division Medical Services and Hospital.

Other projects commissioned were the remodelled Soldiers Club and newly constructed Soldiers Transit Accomodation.

In his remarks, Gen Lagbaja commended the Commander 82 Division Hospital for ensuring the projects were completed in good time, adding that the projects would greatly boost the capacity of the hospital to address the health needs of the Abakpa Cantonment and neighboring communities.

He disclosed that the newly remodelled Soldiers Club will provide a conducive environment for soldiers and their families to rest after a busy day, while also adding that the newly constructed transit accomodation will alleviate some of the challenges soldiers on transit face in relation to accommodation.

He charged beneficiaries of the various projects to ensure constant maintenance for its long use
