• Skoro Vows To Floor Kenyan Opponent
After producing three African champions, including an African Commonwealth boxing champion, organisers of the GOtv Boxing Night says they will produce a world boxer very soon.
The 14th edition of the GOtv Boxing Night will hold on April 14 at the Indoor Sports Hall of the National Stadium, Surulere Lagos.
Speaking in Lagos during the week, the Chief Executive Officer of Flykite Promotions, Jenkins Alumona said: “We have produced three African champions within a short period of time, and on April 14, we hope to get a fourth one. But the main target is to push forward to get a world champion. Anthony Joshua who is a world title holder has a Nigerians blood, but we are really working hard to produce a Nigeria-made world champion.”

According to Alumona, the April 14 boxing showdown in Lagos will involve seven local bouts and a West African Boxing Union welterweight title fight between Rilwan Babatunde of Nigeria and Djossou Agoy Basile of Benin Republic, just as Waheed Usman (Nigeria) battles Michael Nyawade of Kenya in an African Boxing Union featherweight title contest.
Other bouts lined up for the night are Kehinde Badmus versus Rilwan Olodosu, Sulaiman Adeosun versus Majesty Maduka, Chukwubuka Ezewudo versus Semiu Olapade, Razak Ramon versus Abiodun Affini and Prince Nwoye versus Oto Joseph.
The Public Relations Manager of GOtv, Jennifer Ukoh disclosed that the best boxer of the night would receive the Mojisola Ogunsanya Memorial Trophy and N1million prize money.
Meanwhile, African Boxing Union featherweight title contender, Nigeria’s Waidi “Skoro” Usman has vowed to floor his Kenyan counterpart Michael “Shaka” Nyawade. Skoro lost a bid to win the title to Edward Kakembo of Uganda in 2015.
He stated that there would be no hiding place for the visitor on April 14 in Lagos.
Also, Rilwan ‘Babyface’ Babatunde says he would do everything possible to win the West African Boxing Union welterweight title against Djossou “Agoy” Basile of the Republic of Benin.
