Gov. Ishaku Defeats Mama Taraba, Sani Danladi, Others To Win Second Term

The governor of Taraba state and governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party PDP Darius Ishaku has defeated Sen. Aisha Arhasan popularly known as Mama Taraba, the gubernatorial candidate of United Democratic Party UDP and the candidate of All Progressive  Congress APC Sani Danladi to win his second term as the governor of Taraba state.

Declaring the governorship result at the INEC office in Jalingo Taraba state capital, the state collation officer for the governorship election in Taraba state Prof. Shehu Adamu Iya declared that Governor Darius Ishaku scored a total votes of 520,433 to defeat his main challenger Sani Danladi who scored 362,735 to come second in the race.

The third runner in the election Sen. Jumai Arhasan (Mama Taraba) who ran the race under UDP got 16,289 votes.

In his acceptance speech shortly after the declaration of the governorship result, Ishaku call on his opponents in the race to join hands with him with their worth of ideas to move Taraba state forward.

Governor Ishaku who also frown at the delay of the declaration of the governorship results urged INEC to learn from the 2019 general election to improve on the subsequent elections.
