Group Sues For Peace Ahead Edo PDP Congress

A political group under the auspices of Edo PDP Patriotic Front (EPPF) has sued for calm and patience among the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members in the state ahead of the party’s congress in the state.

This appeal was contained in a statement signed by the president, EPPF, comrade Henry Ekundayo and made available to LEADERSHIP yesterday in Abuja.

Ekundayo stressed the need for all the party members to embrace peace, saying that in crisis meaningful progress can not be achieved.

He, however, urged the party leaders in the state to sensitize all aggrieved members ahead of the forthcoming congresses.

According to him, we have noted with keen interest with various false accusations levied against the state party chairman.

He also urged all the party members in the state to be wary of campaign of calumny against the leadership of the party in the state and urged sponsors of such campaign to take caution.

Ekundayo recalled that a similar faceless body rose and challenge the leadership of PDP with fictitious accusations before 2016 PDP congresses in Edo state.

“We sincerely sue for peace in the overall interest of the party, bearing in mind that in few months from now there will be party congresses.

“We wish to state unequivocally that the time has come for us to refocus and reposition the party not only towards effective leadership but a vibrant visionary and transparent party that will be victorious all of the time.

“We therefore urge them to sensitize their aggrieved members who might be interested in key position from the ward level to the state level in the forth coming congresses,” he said.

He added that all the leaders of the party must courageously accept were they went wrong in the interest of the future of the party and this must be embellish in the party’s determination to succeed.
