Guard ‘Defiles’ Daughter, Three Other Minors

65-year-old security guard, Yisa Showunmi, was on Wednesday arraigned before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly defiling four under aged girls, including his daughter (names withheld).

Prosecuting Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Ezekiel Ayorinde said the defendant committed the offence between 2010 and 2019.

Ayorinde told the court that the four survivors were all 16 years old.

The court did not take the plea of the defendant.

Chief Magistrate Mrs Bola Osunsanmi admitted the security guard to bail in the sum of N200,000 and two sureties in like sum.

She ordered that the sureties must be gainfully employed and show evidence of two years tax payment to the Lagos State Government.

Chief Magistrate Osunsanmi directed the police to duplicate the case file and forward a copy to the office of the State Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for advice.

She adjourned till August 7. [THE NATION]
