Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers in the early hours of Saturday killed the chairman of Dobi chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gwagwalada area council, Malam Hussaini Sarki.
Sarki, 42 was said to have been killed by yet to be identified gunmen at his home town, Kyarda village.
A resident and one of the APC executives in the area, who did not want his name mentioned, told newsmen that the gunmen are suspected to be kidnappers.
He said after killing the party chairman, “they also abducted his 14-year -old daughter, and as we speak now they contacted the family and they are demanding for N10, 000.000.00 as ransom.
“He was a politician, but his murder is not politically motivated, because they came to his village killed him and went away with his daughter and are demanding for N10 million as ransom,” he said.
However, all attempts to contact the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Gwagwalada area council failed as several calls put across to him were neither answered nor returned.
When contacted, the spokesman for the FCT police command, Anjuguri Manzah, said he was not aware of the incident and pleaded for more time to find out about the development.
