Herbert Macaulay House wins British Spring College’s inter-house competition

Herbert Macaulay House on Saturday emerged winners of the British Spring College, Awka’s sixth annual inter-house sports competition sponsored by Chikki Instant Noodles.

The keenly competed event, which took place at the school’s main field, had in attendance distinguished personalities such as the Anambra State Commissioner for Youth Entrepreneurship and Sports Development, Dr. (Mrs.) Uju Nwogu, the Anambra State Sports Commissioner represented by a Director in the Ministry, Mr. Joseph Ogbudu, parents, teachers, staff and invited schools as well as the students.

To emerge winners, Herbert Macaulay (Green House) topped the table with a total of 330 points followed by Nnamdi Azikiwe (Blue House) with a total of 250 points. Lord Lugard (Yellow House) took the third position with a total of 200 points, leaving Mary Slessor House with the fourth position with a total of 180 points.

In his address, the Chairman of the event, Managing Director, Brande Aristotle Ltd, Mr. Odili Ujubuonu commended the management for putting up a colourful event, while describing the inter-house sports competition as an important component of any serious academic and intellectual vocation and so must be encouraged.
