Ifeanyi Ubah Still YPP Member – Amakiri

The chairman of the Young Progressives Party (YPP), Bishop Amakiri has said that the Senator-elect for Anambra South senatorial district, Ifeanyi Ubah has not defected to any party.

During a dinner with APC senators-elect and governors under their platform, the national chairman of the party, Comrade Adams Oshiohmole had described Ifeanyi Ubah “as a smart guy for joining the APC,” stating that other formalities would be done later.

LEADERSHIP reports that Ubah who is an elected lawmaker under the platform of YPP had last weekend held meetings with other APC senators-elect rooting for the election of the current senate leader, Ahmed Lawan as the chairman of the National Assembly.

“National Assembly politics has nothing to do with a particular political party. You know Ifeanyi Ubah is the only Senator-elect under the platform of YPP and he has to align with any candidate vying for the office of the Senate President, “ Amakiri told LEADERSHIP.

He said as the chairman of a political party he can visit President Muhammadu Buhari to discuss national issues and advice him on issues of national importance adding that it does not translate to decamping.

“As the chairman of the YPP, Ifeanyi Ubah is still a member of the party. He has not presented the party with a letter of resignation. He was elected under YPP and he is still our member,” Amakiri added.
