The Brenda Rogers’ team came into the match, low of confidence having been defeated by Manchester City last weekend and whitewashed by Liverpool on Thursday.

Kelechi Iheanacho, however, gave City the lead in the 40th minute, but it could only last for five minutes after Fornals ran into the area, got on the end of Anderson’s low cross and lashed it into the far bottom corner.

Leicester also missed a penalty in the 9th minute of the game after Iheanacho was fouled inside the area by Fabiański.

Gray stepped up for the penalty but missed after a quick take. He went to Fabiański’s left, and West Ham’s keeper guessed correctly.

Gray, however, showed his resilience in the 64th minute and placed the visitors back in the lead, few minutes after Maddison came on for Iheanacho’s strike partner, Ayoze Perez.

City’s skipper Morgan almost scored the third goal in the 67th minute after a scrappy passage of play inside West Ham’s penalty area, he took a touch, flicked it over his head and looks to volley it past Fabiański! but It lacked enough power and was saved.

It was quite tough in the final minutes, but Leicester held the lead to seal the victory for their final match in 2019.

The victory made it their first Premier League win in four games, courtesy of goals from Kelechi Iheanacho and Demarai Gray.

Leicester now sit 10 points behind Premier League leaders, Liverpool.
