Clark was a prominent figure in the South-South region and a key advocate for the rights of the Niger Delta people. His passing comes shortly after the death of Afenifere leader Ayo Adebanjo, who died at 96.

In the depths of my sorrow, I find myself utterly shattered, mourning a father who stood by me against all odds, even in defiance of his own blood. His love was a fierce shield, and the trust he placed in me created a bond that knew no boundaries. He entrusted me with briefs far beyond my capacity, launching me into the limelight just as I was leaving law school. His Eminence Ekwin Kiagbodo Clark, OFR, CON, was not merely a mentor; he was my guiding star in a world shrouded in darkness, opening doors where none existed and paving paths with his boundless generosity. Today, I grieve for a giant whose heart matched his wisdom, leaving a void that words cannot capture. Adieu, dear father; your legacy and love will resonate in my life forever.
