INEC Stops Voting, Counting of Results Began in Adamawa

INEC And The Fresh Clamour For De-Registration Of  Parties

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Adamawa state, has commenced sorting and counting of ballots at the ongoing governorship rerun  election conducted peaceful .

Voting has ended in the in the 44 polling units where the supplementary election is taking place in nine local government areas of the state.

 

The affected LGAs where supplementary polls took place are   Fufore, Ganye, Girei, Guyuk, Hong, Lamurde, Madagali, Michika,  Mubi North, with 29 political parties participating.

 

Barrister Kassim Gaidam, INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner,  (REC), said exercise is being supervised by  top security agencies  lead by the Assistant Inspector General (AIG) Zone 3  in collaboration with sister security agencies in the. State.

 

The REC said 40,988 registered voters are expected to cast their votes in the 44 polling units where the rerun polls is been conducted in state.

 

The governorship collation Centre at the office of the INEC, is set to begin receiving of results across the state, while the popular bank road where the office is situated motorists are forced to use one lane
