Kuwait’s Defense Minister on Wednesday said it has received a letter from the Commander-in-Chief of a U.S. military camp in Kuwait “declaring imminent withdrawal of all U.S. military forces in three days,”

The state news agency, KUNA quoted the minister as saying, “Receiving such [a] letter from Camp Arifjan was unexpected and we are communicating with U.S. Department of Defense for more details and information.”

But, Kuwait’s government in reaction said that a Wednesday report of a U.S. troop withdrawal is incorrect and that the state news agency was hacked.

The US troop withdrawal is coming after the killing of Iranian army General, Qassem Soleimani

Iran had vowed severe retaliation.

On Wednesday, more than a dozen rockets were fired at two Iraqi military bases hosting US troops.

The missiles were targeted at the Ain al-Assad base in Anbar province and a facility near Erbil’s airport in northern Iraq very early Wednesday morning.
