Rivers state governor, Nyesom Wike, whose election was nullified by the Election Petition Tribunal in his reaction says he will appeal the verdict and go as far as the Supreme Court if the need be.
He said: Thank you for your support.
We have come back from Abuja with party National Chairman and other leaders.
By my profession i’m not suppose to criticise any judge but what i will say is that the tribunal has given their verdict but i know it’s not the verdict of God. Your mandate no one will touch. We have to protect Rivers State.I’m still the governor of Rivers State. All of their gang up will do nothing. We cannot be intimidated. We are going to Appeal Court and after that Supreme Court.
In Lagos PDP went to court with card reader as one of their case and the tribunal said card reader is not part of the electoral act and based on that APC won the case.
Same tribunal nullified our election based on card reader. The tribunal cannot overturn the verdict of a higher court.
Labour Party (LP) and Social Democratic Party (SDP) did not give 21 days notice to INEC based on that the tribunal disqualified them but APC based on same fault is different.
Nobody will intimidate me to abandon this state.
Do not make trouble, conduct yourself so that the world will know that you are peaceful.
Do not panic the law is on our side and God is on our side.
If they want let them bring the highest squared we will protect your mandate. Thank you all for your support.
