Fulham have completed the surprise signing of Ivory Coast international Jean Michael Seri from French side, OGC Nice.

Seri signed a four-year contract with Fulham after the midfielder was linked with Arsenal, Napoli, Chelsea and Barcelona in several transfer windows. His deal till 2022, has the option to be extended by a further year.

Seri said: “It was a long day yesterday so it was great to get the move finalised.

“Now, I’m ready to get started and looking forward to meeting the squad and getting to know them, the Head Coach and his staff better.

“I’m delighted to be here, it’s a new adventure that starts for me and I’m hoping it will all go well.”

The deal is subject to clearance and the midfielder is working on obtaining a work permit.

Seri is an accomplished passer of the ball and is feted for his metronomic passing. The 26-year-old has led the Ligue 1 in passes completed for the past two seasons.

Seri played 103 times for Nice and 18 international caps with Ivory Coast.

Fulham owner Tony Khan said: “Jean Michael arrives with Premier League qualities as well as great promise for the future, which is why he has been at the very top of our target list for a long time.”
