Anthony Joshua has tipped Anthony Crolla to beat Jorge Linares when the pair meet in tonight’s WBA lightweight title rematch. The first encounter, which took place last September, saw three-weight world champion, Linares take the verdict on points.

Crolla, however, emerged with plenty of credit from the bout and has vowed to regain the WBA lightweight title at the Manchester Arena this weekend.“First fight, phenomenal,” Joshua told Sky Sports News. “Jorge Linares, phenomenal fighter. ‘Million Dollar’ Crolla, phenomenal fighter.

“I like them, but I am going with the hometown fighter. Crolla, you are doing it for all of us and I wish you the best of luck.”Linares insists he is feeling in peak fitness ahead of his second bout with Anthony Crolla and intends to go one better by knocking out Crolla after missing out on a glorious chance to do so in September.

“If the knockout comes this time – if it’s right there like it was last time – I am going to get it,” he told Sky Sports News. “This time there have been no issues with my hand, there have been no issues.

“I am not coming back after a long break, I am coming better than ever. My legs, my mentality, my physical conditioning, everything is on par.”Both fighters weighed in on Friday at 9st 8lbs 4oz.
