World boxing promoters, Matchroom claim they have offered improved terms to Deontay Wilder to set up a blockbuster world heavyweight title unification fight with Anthony Joshua.

Wilder, the WBC world heavyweight champion is preparing to defend his crown against fellow British fighter, Tyson Fury, in Los Angeles in December.

But most in the boxing world are curious as to whether he will step into the ring for a highly anticipated clash against fellow heavyweight champion Joshua, which has been brewing for months.

And the 28-year-old’s promoters have pulled together a new lucrative package in an attempt to tempt Wilder into agreeing to a unification bout for April next year.

Barry Hearn, head of Matchroom, revealed that he had made the offer in a surprise tweet.

Hearn tweeted on Wednesday afternoon: “So now a new improved offer has been made to Wilder’s camp, let’s see if they will finally agree to a meeting to discuss or not.

“Fans will find out if both sides really want this fight and I know AJ does.

“No obstacles from our end so just waiting for a response.’

It is expected that the terms offered are dependent on Wilder overcoming Fury when they meet on December 1.

Hearn added: ‘It’s obviously dependent in wilder winning that fight. Doesn’t stop agreeing terms now so we have everything in place (sic).’

Joshua has already booked Wembley to defend his world titles and has already admitted he has Wilder on his radar.

He said: “My number one would be Wilder, that’s it. Let’s not talk about number two or number three.

“I’m not too fussed who wins. May the champion bring himself to the UK and let’s have a good old-fashioned dust up.

“April 13th that’s what I’m interested in. All I want to fight is serious challengers.’
