Kebbi Governorship Candidates Signs Peace Accord

Principal political actors in the 2019 election in Kebbi state, the governorship candidates and other candidates of political parties have signed peace accord towards the successful conduct of 2019 general election in the state.

The event was organized by the Nigeria Police in collaboration with INEC at Shagalinku Hotel in Birnin Kebbi yesterday attended by Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu of APC, the PDP governorship candidate, Senator Isa Galaudu amongst others.

In his remarks,the newly posted commissioner of Police to the state, CP Garba Danjuma said the signing of the peace accord was to ensure that the 2019 election was conducted in a peaceful and Serene environment, devoid of strife and rancour while maintaining the peace track record for which Kebbi is known for.

“” You will recall that the National Peace Accord was signed in Abuja on 13/2/2019 by all presidential candidates, where all political parties committed themselves to a fair and peaceful conduct of 2019 General elections.

As a follow up to that Ag.Inspector General of Police Muhammad Adamu Abubakar directs that state should replicate the accord peace because of its importance ”, he said.

In a similar message, AIG Zone 10,Sokoto, Muhammad Mustapha said the event is historic and important in view of the fact that Kebbi State maintains number one peaceful state in Nigeria.

The resident electoral commissioner, Ahmad Adamu promised that INEC will be fair to all and will conduct credible election that will be accepted to all in the state.

Highlights of the event included signing of the peace accord by Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu of APC, PDP governorship candidate, Isah Galaudu, candidates of vying for other political positions as well as chairmen of the the political parties who attended the event.

Both governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu of APC and the PDP governorship candidate, Isa Galaudu promised to abide by the peace accord.
