Labour Congratulates Oyetola, Urges Him To Pay Salaries

The leadership of the labour movement in Osun State on Saturday commended Governor Adegboyega Oyetola for improving the economy of the state since he took over reins of power three years ago.

It, however, reminded the governor of the unpaid half salaries of workers in the state.

In a statement jointly signed by the Chairman, Nigeria Labour Congress, Mr Babatunde Adekomi; Chairman, Trade Union Congress, Mr Adebowale Adekola; and Chairman, Joint Negotiations Council, Mr Bayo Adejumo; and obtained in Osogbo on Saturday, it reminded the governor of the memorandum of understanding he signed with the labour movement on many of its demands, including the payment of outstanding half salaries.

The statement read in part, “In the spirit of this auspicious and memorable third-year celebration, we bring to the remembrance of Mr Governor the memorandum of understanding he has signed with the labour movement on our plethora of demands which includes and is not limited to the payment of outstanding half salaries owed by the previous administration.”
