The Police on Friday arraigned 28-year-old Yusuf Alhassan, in a Karmo Grade 1 Area Court, Abuja, for allegedly stealing iron rod valued at N350,000.
The defendant, who resides at Angwan Fulani village, Abuja, is standing trial on a two-count charge of criminal trespass and theft.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges levelled against him.

The prosecutor, Florence Avhioboh, told the court that John Emmanuel, a security guard at Mbora Estate, Abuja, reported the matter at the Life Camp Police Station, Abuja, on Jan. 29.
The complainant said on that said date, he caught the defendant for allegedly trespassing into a building in the estate, while trying to steal three pieces of iron rod valued at N350,000.
Avhioboh said that the offences contravened Sections 348 and 288 of the Penal Code.
The judge, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N50,000, with one surety in like sum, and adjourned the case until March 21, for hearing.
