To address the nation’s developmental challenges, the Lift Above Poverty Organisation (LAPO), is organising a forum where non-state actors would deliberate on how to stimulate economic growth in the country.

The programme, which is themed; “Towards sustainable socio-economic transformation of Nigeria: options for non-state intervention,” is the 25th in the series and is expected to provide a veritable platform for policy makers and critical stakeholders to proffer practicable solutions to problems militating against the socio-economic development of Nigeria.

The event will hold at the Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, on Friday, August 24, 2018, and would be chaired by the former Petroleum Minister; Chief Philip Asiodu, while a renowned Professor of Economics, and non-executive director of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mike Obadan, will present the keynote paper.

Over 300 personalities including elected and appointed public officeholders, government ministries, departments and agencies, non-governmental organisations, international development agencies, the academia, financial sector, microfinance institutions, civil society organisations, and the media are expected to attend the forum.

According to the Chairperson, Planning Committee for the programme; Sabina Idowu-Osehobo, a well-documented and publicised report containing presentations, discussions, major conclusions and recommendations capable of stimulating sustainable socio-economic transformation in Nigeria, will be able public at the end of the event.
