The nine-month training would also expose the participants to various subjects, including local government laws, finance and accounts, administration and comparative local government, among others, a statement on Thursday said.

The Director-General of PSSDC, Dr. Senukon Ajose- Harrison, who spoke at the opening session of the training, was said to have stressed the role local government workers played in community development being the yardstick for measuring government performance.

“The course is designed not only to remove your fear of stagnation, but also to equip you with skills necessary for the efficient and effective performance of your duties,” he said in the statement.

The Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Local Government Service Commission, Mr Olukayode Ogunnubi, who was represented at the event by the Director of Career Management at the Commission, Mr Bamgbose Olatunji, advised the participants to take the course seriously to benefit maximally from it and compete at par with their colleagues.
