In a petition through his lawyer, Hashim Abioye, the 55-year-old lecturer sought a Decree of Dissolution of Marriage on the grounds that his 45-year-old wife who is also a lecturer at the Department of Accounting in the same Polytechnic committed adultery with the Rector of the institution, Dr Lateef Olatunji.
Copies of the petition and the court process were obtained by Daily Trust Correspondent.
The lecturer explained that he married his wife at the Marriage Registrar, Amuwo Festac Town, Lagos and that the union is blessed with three children.

He also said his wife had not been living with him for two years and that his his personal belongings, including two cars, are with her.
Bankole said his wife perpetrated acts amounting to infidelity and promiscuity and that the woman was hobnobbing with his adversaries and thereby disturbing his peace.
But in her response, the wife said her husband abandoned her and the children for nine years, adding that she consented to the divorce.
She said “We have been separated since 2012. For nine years, he has not been a responsible man. He has been blackmailing me. I’m the one taking care of our children. I’m not having affair with the Rector. It’s not true. The children were in primary school when this thing started and they have graduated from secondary school now without his contribution. He is not responsible. I’m okay with the divorce.”
