The Peoples Democratic Party in Rivers State has been declared the winner of the local government elections conducted across the 23 local government areas of the state.
The Chairman of the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission, Justice Chukwunenye Uriri (retd), declared the PDP the winner on Sunday night.
Uriri said the election was free, fair and devoid of violence.
It will be recalled that the All Progressives Congress boycotted the election.
The party said it decided to obey court orders concerning the poll.
