The Senator Hope Uzodimma Governorship Campaign Council (HUGCC) has described as laughable and mischievous insinuations   that its Governorship Candidate All Progressives Congress (APC) was responsible for the recent shake-up in the Imo State Police Command.

In a statement in Owerri at the weekend, the Campaign Council through its spokesman, Hon. Declan Mbadiwe Emelumba said   it was curious that the APC  governorship candidate in the State  who is a mere contestant like any other contestant in the 2019 Imo governorship race, could wield such enormous powers and influence to warrant  the redeployment of top police officers which is statutorily the duties of the Inspector General of Police and his management team.

It said linking Senator Uzodimma to the shake-up which has since been reversed by the IGP  himself  was  a ploy to distract the APC flag bearer  from his focused and issues-based campaigns aimed at becoming the next governor of Imo State .
