Operatives of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and police have arrested one, Engineer Gude Ude in Kano state with FRSC’s uniform and a military ID card.
A statement from the FRSC Kano state command, signed by the Acting Sector Commander, Ahmed T. Mohammed, said Ude was arrested on Thursday, January 4, 2018 along Kaduna-Kano highway during a special patrol tagged “Operation Zero”.
According to the statement, “Ude was driving a vehicle (Sharon) with registration number MKA 269 HU. When he was stopped, he claimed to be a staff of the FRSC and was found with FRSC uniform in his position.

“However, having suspected to be impersonating the FRSC, the man was arraigned before a Special Mobile Court attached to the Special Patrol Operations where he then produced a military ID card and claimed to be a soldier.”
He later tried to escape but was arrested and re-arraigned before the mobile court, the statement added.
The statement explained that the man was later taken to Kumbotso Police Divisional Office from where he was charged to a magistrate court 47 sitting at Court road, Kano.
It was in view of this that the FRSC Kano State Command warned the general public to always beware as some fraudsters had developed the habit of impersonating members of the Corps, defrauding motorists and other road users.
The command therefore affirmed its commitment towards arresting and prosecuting perpetrators of these acts while urging the general public to report suspected cases to the nearest FRSC or Police formations.
