Medical Doctor ‘Shot’ During Abuja-Kaduna Train Attack Reportedly Dies

A young medical doctor identified as Chinelo who said she was shot by terrorists who attacked Abuja-Kaduna train on Monday night, has reportedly died.

Chinelo had taken to her Twitter handle, @nelo_x to report that she had been shot by the terrorists while asking for prayers.

“I’m in the train . I have been shot please pray for me,” she had tweeted

The lady is reported to have eventually passed away from the gunshot injuries.

Meanwhile, several Twitter users have expressed sadness over her death, while attacking those who mocked her in her tweet.

“Just learnt that Dr Chinelo didn’t make it. This is heartbreaking on so many levels,” wrote Dr. Chinonso Egemba, @aproko_doctor

“It’s the same people who defend this administration that came out to mock a fellow Nigerian who was shot on the train People who have no conscience, no empathy

“Dr Chinelo is dead now, are you happy?
Are your paymasters pleased with you?Vile, depraved beings! Scum of the earth.”

“We’ve seen it over and over again, they call themselves “patriotic Nigerians” but there’s nothing patriotic about them.

“Their loyalty is not to the country, but to their paymasters and ambition.

“They attack, bite, insult others who call out failing arms of the government. Shame.”

20.10.2020, @I_Am_Ilemona, wrote, “All Chinelo said was “Pray for me.” That is all she said. She was then targeted and subjected to abuse by a group of vile and evil creatures. Cos she was shot and asked for prayers so she could survive.

“This thing hurt me to my marrows!!! You didn’t want to pray for her? Unlook!!! Scroll down!!! Move on!!! Instead you gathered in her mentions and cussed her out. Called her names. Made her spend he last hours being subjected to hate & vitriol because you don’t want your slave master to look bad.

“Nigeria will happen to you people. The story of what happens may not make it to the TL. But Nigeria will happen. And you will remember when you trolled a victim of a terrorist attack. And help will elude you.”

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has suspended its Abuja-Kaduna train operations in the wake of the attack.

The NRC announced its decision in a terse statement on Twitter on Tuesday.

“Dear passengers, due to unforeseen circumstances, Train operations along the Abuja-Kaduna route has been temporarily suspended. Further Communication would be given in due course,” the statement shared via @Official_NRC, read.

Terrorists had attacked a train on Monday night, blowing off the rail track between Rijana and Katari in Kaduna State and surrounded it shooting sporadically.
