Innovative Juju Music Icon that refused to Fade!
Micho Ade whose real names are Michael Adedayo Alaba Omoshilade keeps waxing strong. Micho a native of Ikere Ekiti Born precisely in 1953 started his musical apprenticeship under Chief Jossy Ayorinde and his Morning Star Band in Ekiti. After fours years training he formed his own band Micho Ade and the African Stars in 1976.
Micho Ade shot into limelight in 1981 when he was discovered by Olatubosun records with the song Eyin Agba Eyin Odo.
Micho was known for his Juju Rock style which was fast tempo and he was fondly called Sunny Ibadan because of his slim figure and resemblance to KSA.
Speaking with Micho Ade today in Ibadan about his music career particularly his song Oju Ogun L’aye which was released in 1991 , he recounted some unpleasant experiences that made him compose the song which is now an Evergreen masterpiece.
With over 31 albums to his credit he is worthy of celebration as he marks 50 years of active stage performance on 5th of June, 2022.
Among his contemporaries are Sir Shina Peters, Dayo Kujore, Segun Adewale, etc
