Adenuga also owns 74% of publicly traded gasoline firm Conoil and just under 6% of publicly traded Nigerian bank Sterling Financial Holding.

He was born on April 29, 1953.The man, Chief Michael Adeniyi Agbolade Ishola Adenuga Jnr from Ijebu Igbo in Ogun State is from a humble background as the father was a teacher and mother was a successful businesswoman.

He stands out as a philanthropist extraordinaire who gives without noise associated with most philanthropist. He has touched the lives of most sportsmen and the entertainment industry through sponsorship and ambassadors deal.

The Bull was able to safe Nigerians from the exploitations of the telecom companies who started operations before Glo. Nigerians suffered call drops and pay per minute as they declared that per second billing was impossible. Glo started per second billing with good and efficient services, thus making other telecom companies to follow suit.

The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams, achieving greatness in life requires commitment, focus, and determination to succeed, and like Kofi Awoonor Williams, a Ghanian poet in his poem Song of Sorrow wrote.

“The firewood of this world is for only those who can take heart, that is why not all can gather it”. Otunba Mike Adenuga, achieving success is a goal which he has set and was able to achieve in a big way.

The business mogul once worked as a taxi driver to fund his university education in the United States of America and this did not deter him from coming out with flying colors. Unlike many of today’s youths who loses focus when they get abroad, Adenuga did not Japa without a vision, he had his eyes on the ball and was able to achieve it without strong focus.

As a business administrator, Adenuga made his first Million in 1979 selling lace and distributing soft drinks, he was just 26, the age at which the majority of today’s youth are still been spoonfeed by their parent. Adenuga’s focus and training emboldened him to “walk on waters’ without sinking, he took the risk further in 1990 when he received a license and had a record as the first indigenous oil company to drill oil in commercial quantity.

The chairman of Conoil and Globacom received GSM licena ce in 2003 with which he liberated Nigerians from the monopoly of the South African MTN which sells their line at an exorbitant rate. The coming of Globacom being an indigenous mobile network was celebrated and widely accepted.

Otunba Adenuga’s invaluable contributions to the entertainment and creative industry have helped transform the lives of many stakeholders in the industry as well as reshaping the sector by promoting African cultural heritage and traditions.

Today in Nigerian Globacom is one of the indigenous companies that reward creativity through branding talented artists as Ambassador and paying them good money. The company is also a lead sponsor in some of the traditional festivals in Nigeria and Africa at large, for example the branding and sponsorship of Ojude Oba, an annual festival in Ijebu Ode that has become a mecca during Ileya festival.

Chief Adenuga’s selfless efforts and service to humanity are being appreciated with honors and awards both locally and internationally. In 2012, he was made the Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger, while Emmanuel Macron of France also honored him with a Commander of the Legion Hour, just to mention few honours bestowed on the man, Dr Mike Adenuga.

INFOTRUST celebrates today a man of vision with a large heart. We are proud of you and your unequalled achievements over the years. Long life in good health.
Happy birthday to Dr Adenuga Mike @ 71.
