Groups slam Akeredolu over party’s loss in Ondo
Movement for Yewa/Awori for Governor (MOYAG) has described the suspension of Ogun State governor, Ibikunle Amosun, from the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the end of the party in the state. To them, “Amosun’s suspension is a suspension of the party in the state.”

At a press conference in Abeokuta yesterday, the group canvassed support for the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) governorship candidate, Adekunle Akinlade. It noted that Amosun’s suspension was hinged on his commitment to ensure justice and equity for Yewa/Awori to produce the next governor.

MOYAG is leaving no stone unturned to ensure that a Yewa indigene becomes the next governor of the state, as the district has not produced the governor since the creation of the state over 42 years ago.Two candidates from Ogun West senatorial district (Yewa area), Akinlade (APM) and Gboyega Isiaka of African Democratic Congress (ADC), are vying for the governorship seat.

But the group maintained that Akinlade was considered the better option, after extensive research into his antecedents. Its convener, Mr. Sola Oyekanmi, insisted that Akinlade’s rich legislative experience would be used for the benefit of the state, adding that the only way Ogun people could appreciate outgoing Governor Amosun’s good works was to vote the APM candidate.

Meanwhile, the Buhari/Osinbajo Movement and Think Buhari 2019 have told Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu to apologise to the All Progressives Congress (APC) members in Ondo State for jeopardising their chances during the presidential election.

At a press conference in Akure yesterday, coordinator of Buhari/Osinbajo Movement, Mr. Segun Omojola, and his Think Buhari 2019 counterpart, Mr. Emminence Dada, attributed the loss of President Muhammadu Buhari in the state to the governor’s anti-party activities.

They noted that the party lost the presidential and national assembly ballot in the state due to the directive given by the governor and leadership of the party. “The party in the state, which used to be the beautiful bride, was derobed, raped by the anti-democratic attitude of the governor and some party leaders.

“The machinery of the party in the state was therefore deployed for the benefit of Action Alliance (AA) candidates, instead of APC candidates. “They misled our people with their anti-party activities to vote for opposition party by directing them to vote for their candidate of choice, which is AA,” they said.
