The wife of Kaduna state governor, Hajiya Aisha el-Rufai has introduced a grassroots campaign methodology entitled ‘APC Gida-Gida’ aimed at working diligently towards ensuring the electoral success of All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates at the general election.
The ‘APC Gida-Gida’ project simply means ‘APC House to House Campaign’.
A statement made available to LEADERSHIP yesterday in Abuja, signed by director, media and publicity, APC Gida-Gida Project, Jamila Umar Faruk, said the project also aims at bringing together all the people of Kaduna state, including groups and association within various wards, communities and local government councils, to meet and share a common ideology on the achievements, successes and future plans of the APC led-government in the state.
It said via the APC Gida-Gida project, the group will reach out to members of the general public at their domains and deliberately seek their mandates and support for APC administration for the second term in the state.
The project coordinators, according to the statement, constitute about 88 arrow heads, which were drawn from local governments, wards, market and community leaders, unions and artisans.

The statement, therefore, urges all Kaduna state citizens to serve as stakeholders and ambassadors of APC, to come together and educate their respective members on the achievements of the present government and reasons why APC needs a second term, in order to accomplish its stated objectives with the sole goal to set standard for greater Kaduna state.
According to the statement, the campaign machinery of the ‘Gida-Gida’ project is headed by a coordinator, who will visit all government councils in the state to meet with the structures of the government and inaugurate other sub-committees that can mobilise electorates and sensitise them on the issue of accreditation and voting, functions of card reader and all process of the election.
The statement reads in part: “The ‘APC Gida-Gida’ project is initiated by the Wife of Kaduna State Governor Hajiya Aisha Ummi Garba el-Rufai, in order to bring together all citizens of our great state – Kaduna, to share a common ideology on the achievements and plans for the APC government under the present administration. We have so far identified with the stakeholders in all local government councils, wards and communities, who serve as our ambassadors for the project.’’
The statement further advices the Kaduna state citizens to remain calm and shun all forms of election malpractices, votes buying and hooliganism.
It added that one of the core objectives of our great party APC, and the ‘Gida-Gida’ project is to foster peace and unity in Kaduna state and the nation as a whole.
