*Shun the idea, it’s not a better option – Friends appeal
As the list of broken marriages in recent months increases with Rivers State-born singer/actress, Gift Uwameme a.k.a Muma Gee as the newest and sharing the front burner with Tonto Dikeh, many Nigerians especially close associates and friends, are appealing to her to apply the brakes.
Although there were tales before now that things were falling apart between her and her husband, Prince Oluebube Ekeh, who is also into the showbiz, the sad development which seems to be trending in the industry, still touched doorsteps as close pals tried in vain to avert it.
Incidentally, Muma Gee had told whoever cared to listen when she finally quit spinsterhood that she was going to show a good example with her union and debunk the notion that showbiz marriages don’t last.
Some of her close friends confessed that they were shaken by the ugly situation.
Speaking under anonymity, one of them who claims to have known Muma Gee for almost two decades and was visible when she got married, disclosed that “the devil must have crept in and played the spoiler’s game. There was no sign that the union would crumble at anytime when they united, they were like Siamese twins, so I’m shocked and pained. But she must not opt for a divorce, something positive can still happen.’’
Another person who claims to also be her close associate and simply gave her name as Sandra, stated that it’s really unfortunate that Muma Gee’s marriage could go the way of some other showbiz players. “I thought that being a more matured and reserved lady, she will tolerate the odds in marriage. God can still reunite them so she should forget about the final showdown for now.’’
Blessed with a set of twins, their coming together not too long ago was widely celebrated such that some doubting ‘Thomases’ who thought that the delectable star of many events had given the kiss off to marriage, swallowed their words.
An attempt to reach her via the telephone proved abortive as at the time of filing this report. But she reportedly said recently that she would have no option than to welcome it if she’s pushed to the wall.
