The senator representing Adamawa Northern Senatorial zone, Mrs Binta Masi Garba, has said that her constituency is safe for the conduct of the 2019 general elections.
Binta stated this while reacting to an attack by Boko Haram terrorists on some Adamawa communities, adding that the crisis was blown out of proportion.
According to her, the purported attack on communities of Michika and Madagali will not affect the conduct of the 2019 general elections in those areas.

“APC-led government returned peace to our communities and nobody can say that my party can destroy the works of its hands built over the years. If not for my party, a good number of people would never return to their homes,” Binta said while debunking allegations that a political party fueled the crisis.
“The rumour is unfounded, rootless and baseless. I am assuring all my constituents that elections will be holding in all the units of the senatorial zone,” Binta added.
Binta, who said Boko Haram remnants are scrambling for food, disclosed that the terrorists are seriously starved at their hideouts in Sambisa, a forest, she said, is close to Kirchinga community.
The lawmaker said the recent attacks are basically for the insurgents to search for food because they are facing shortage of food.
“I have every reason to thank God. If I win, it is to His glory, if I don’t, the glory is still to Him,” Binta said of the coming election.
