The Senator representing Adamawa Northern Senatorial zone, Mrs Binta Masi Garba has said that her constituency is safe for the conduct of the 2019 general elections.
Binta stated this while reacting to an attack by Boko Haram terrorists on some Adamawa communities, added that the crisis was blown out of proportion.
According to her, the purported attack on communities of Michika and Madagali will not affect the conduct of the 2019 general elections in those areas.
“The rumour is unfounded, rootless and baseless. I am assuring all my constituents that elections will be holding on all the units of the senatorial zone,” Binta added.
Binta who said Boko Haram remnants are scrambling for food, disclosed that the terrorists are on serious starvation at their hideouts in Sambisa, a forest she said is close to Kirchinga community.
The lawmaker said the recent attacks are basically for the insurgents to scorch for food because they are facing shortage of food.
“That is the reason few of them came into Shuwa community to loot and carted away food stuff.
“I have every reason to thank God. If I win, it is to His Glory. If I don’t, it is to Him the glory is going to be as He can still have a good plan for me,” Binta said of the coming election.
