NCC Tennis League: Team Tombim battle Anambra

Team Tombim, parading former national champion, Sarah Adegoke and Lagos Governors Cup winner, Moses Michael, will take on Team Anambra, which has a balanced team led by Augustine Nwokedi and Lovette Donatus, ranked No.6 in the country, in the second series of round, robin matches in the NCC Tennis League.

The matches are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday at the tennis courts of the National Stadium, Abuja.

Team Tombim is currently placed second in the Blue Group having conceded two matches in their first round-robin tie against Team Delta which the latter won 5-2.

The Civil Defence team, which has Clifford Enosoregbe and Christie Agugbom, national mens’ and ladies’ champions, lead the group with a 7-0 whitewash of Anambra in Onitsha.

The second league match this weekend is taking place at the Port Harcourt Club between Team Kalotari and the CBN Futures. Both teams are in the White Group, which has Team Ogun as leaders, following their 7-0 beating of the young CBN Futures team at the Abeokuta Sports Club in their first match. Team Ogun will be hosting Team FCT next weekend without their star player Joseph Imeh, who is in the US.
