Former Super Eagles midfielder, Wilson Oruma says the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has done everything needed for the team to do well in the on-going Russia 2018 World Cup.
The Super Eagles will face Iceland in a must win second group match tomorrow in Volgograd, having lost their first match 2-0 to Croatia.
Speaking with The Guardian yesterday at the Park INN Hotel in St. Petersburg, Oruma who captained the Golden Eaglets at the U-17 World Cup in Japan ‘93 said the players do not have any excuse if they fail to do well in Russia.

“For the first time in a very long time, the Super Eagles are taking part in the World Cup without any issue regarding payment of camp allowances and participation fees.
I must commend the NFF in that regard. It is left for the players to do their part by beating Iceland and moving ahead.
“I feel sad seeing two African countries, Egypt and Morocco got knocked out after playing just two matches.
The Super Eagles should rise to the challenge by beating Iceland to avoid early exit from the World Cup.
We saw how Senegal rose to the occasion against Poland on Tuesday. I will be very happy to see the Super Eagles beat Iceland on Friday.”
Asked about his impression on the first match against Croatia, Oruma, who was part of Atlanta ‘96 gold winning team said: “For me, what matters now is the match against Iceland.
All Nigerians should forget about the past and focus on how to beat Iceland on Friday.

Let’s support the team to qualify from the group stage of the tournament,” he stated.
