Nigeria wins third position at Zone Two African Senior Swimming Championship

Nigeria at the weekend won five gold medals, four silver and 14 bronze to place third at the Sixth CANA Zone Two African Senior Swimming Championship held in Dakar, Senegal. with Nigeria winning 5 gold, 4 Silver The host country, Senegal got 22 gold, 21 silver and seven bronze medals to place first, while Ghana with 10 gold, 11 silver and 11 bronze medals came second.
 
Unlike Senegal that featured 20 swimmers and Ghana that had nine, Nigeria went with only seven swimmers comprising three men and four women, as well as three officials led by the president of the Nigeria Aquatic Federation and Vice President of the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC), Chief Babatunde Fatai Williams.

Twelve countries took part in the weeklong exercise that took place at the Olympic swimming pool in Dakar, Senegal.These countries are Nigeria, Ghana, Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso. Others are Benin Republic, Cote d’Ivoire, Guinea, Gambia, Sierra Leone, Togo and host country, Senegal.Only Nigeria, Senegal, Ghana, Mali, Guinea Cote D’Ivoire and Niger won medals at the three-day Championship that lasted from May 4 to 6, 2018.
