The Nigerian community in Zambia under the auspices of Nigerian in Diaspora Organization donated a Convenience block to Chainda Secondary School, Chongwe in the capital city of Lusaka to commemorate the 59th independence anniversary celebration of Nigeria on 1st October, 2019.
On hand to commission the block is the Nigerian High Commissioner to Zambia, Mr Umoru Momoh. In his brief remarks at the ceremony, the High Commissioner recalled the long relationship between Nigeria and Zambia especially the role Nigeria played in the Apartheid struggle and how Nigeria was recognized as frontline state despite that it’s located in West Africa.
He also used the occasion to remind all that the donation symbolizes the good spirit of Nigerians wherever they find themselves and expressed his regrets that the activities of a very insignificant few tends to overshadow the many good deeds of Nigerians.
The Province Education Commissioner for Lusaka expressed the gratitude of her government to the Nigerian community for the rare gesture and promised that the facility will be well managed
