It is difficult to assess the truth in rape as many individuals falsely accuse their victims, according Wikipedia for about 2% to 10% of rape allegations, a thorough investigation established that no crime was committed or attempted.
A Nigerian lady on Twitter has narrated how a girl, an acquaintance has falsely accused a guy of rape just to teach him a lesson. The lady identified as @lafunki on Twitter narrated how her friend had convinced her that a guy raped her and later confessed to her sister that she lied, she only wanted to teach the guy a lesson.

She continued that she absolutely believed the story and had gone ahead to castigate the man, just for her sister of her friend to call laughing and saying her sister was too petty that everything was a joke.
She wrote: “Aiye ma le oo. A girl(an acquaintance) falsely accused a guy of rape a while ago….. I believed her and was shouting men are scum….. all for this bitch to tell her sister she lied, she wanted to teach him a lesson”.
She further went on that she is going to drag the girl on Twitter so that everyone will shame, saying it was very heartless of her to levy such heavy accusation on someone.
But how do one gather the mind to accuse someone of a crime as big as rape, imagine the implications, the stigma that will go with the accused, it is really pathetic.
